Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using PlanArith, you agree to these Terms of Use and the related Privacy Policy and Financial Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What PlanArith provides
PlanArith provides free educational personal finance calculators and supporting content for a U.S. audience. Based on assumptions you enter, the tools may provide calculations, breakdowns, schedules, projections, charts, and comparisons between scenarios.
The current service does not include registration, user accounts, paid subscriptions, bank synchronization, transactions, applications for financial products, or personal consultations. PlanArith does not take custody of money or act on your behalf.
Eligibility and lawful use
You may use PlanArith only if you can lawfully agree to these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use the service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to your use.
Permitted use
You may access and use PlanArith for personal, household, educational, or other lawful internal planning. You may save or print your own results and use them as one input in your decision-making, subject to the limitations in these Terms and the Financial Disclaimer.
Reasonable sharing of links to public PlanArith pages is permitted. Any broader reproduction, republication, or commercial exploitation of site content requires permission from the applicable rights holder unless the law allows it without permission.
Prohibited use
You must not:
- use the site, its content, or its results for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- interfere with, overload, disrupt, damage, or test the service in an unauthorized manner;
- introduce malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data;
- circumvent access controls, rate limits, security protections, or technical restrictions;
- use bots, scrapers, or other automated means in a way that creates abusive traffic, impairs access, or disregards technical instructions;
- misrepresent your relationship with PlanArith or imply PlanArith endorses you, a product, or a service;
- remove or obscure ownership, attribution, or legal notices; or
- present a PlanArith estimate as guaranteed, individualized, or professional advice to another person.
Your responsibility for entered data
You control the assumptions and values you enter and are responsible for their accuracy, appropriateness, and lawful use. Do not enter bank credentials, full financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or information you do not have the right to use.
You are also responsible for reviewing the calculation method and visible assumptions, checking important results independently, and deciding whether an estimate is suitable for your purpose.
Intellectual property
The PlanArith name, visual design, original site text, software, calculation presentation, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the public service as described here; they do not transfer ownership of the service or its content.
Third-party names, marks, or materials, if displayed, remain the property of their respective owners. No license is granted to use a mark except as needed to refer accurately to the relevant product or source.
Educational use and no professional relationship
Review the Financial Disclaimer before relying on an estimate for a significant decision.
Third-party links and resources
If PlanArith includes a link to an external website or resource, it is provided for convenience or context. PlanArith does not control and is not responsible for an external site's content, availability, security, terms, privacy practices, products, or services. A link does not by itself mean endorsement. Use third-party resources at your own discretion.
Service availability and changes
PlanArith may add, revise, suspend, or remove calculators, content, features, assumptions, or output formats. The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, technical failure, security needs, or circumstances outside reasonable control. There is no promise that a particular calculator or result will remain available or unchanged.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PlanArith is provided “as is” and “as available.” No express or implied warranty is made that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, complete, current, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that an estimate will match a provider's calculation or a future outcome.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you. Rights that cannot lawfully be waived remain unaffected.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PlanArith and those who operate or support the service will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost savings, profits, data, opportunities, or business, arising from or related to the service or reliance on an estimate.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to losses directly caused by the service to the extent the law permits. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse reasonable losses, claims, and expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of PlanArith, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to losses caused by PlanArith's own unlawful conduct and will be applied only to the extent fairly connected to your conduct.
Restriction or termination of access
Access may be restricted or blocked when reasonably necessary to address suspected abuse, security threats, unlawful conduct, automated overload, or a material violation of these Terms. Because the current service has no user accounts, there is no account balance or subscription to terminate. Provisions that by their nature should survive a restriction—including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and general terms—will survive.
Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are interpreted under laws that validly apply to the service, your location, and the dispute. PlanArith does not publish an operating legal entity or principal place of business, so these Terms do not invent or select a particular U.S. state, court, or exclusive forum. Applicable choice-of-law, jurisdiction, and venue rules will determine those questions if a dispute arises. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.
Severability, waiver, and changes
Severability and waiver
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only as necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated to reflect service, operational, or legal changes. The revised version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use PlanArith after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
